Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Rook and Relay LLC ("we", "us"), the company that makes Train Rivals, about your use of Train Rivals. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data.

Health and safety

Please read

Train Rivals is a logbook and a game. It is not medical advice, a coach or a training program. Talk to a doctor before starting a new exercise routine, especially if you have an injury or health condition. Use proper form, use a spotter for heavy lifts and stop if something hurts.

Leaderboards, rivals and challenges are meant to be fun. Never lift more than you can safely handle to win. You're responsible for how you train, and we aren't liable for injuries that happen while exercising.

Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old, or 16 in the UK and EU. If you're under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms.

Your account

Use your real name or a name your friends will recognize. Don't pretend to be someone else.
Keep your sign-in details and phone secure, and tell us if you think someone else has accessed your account.
One person per account. Don't share or sell accounts.

Squads and conduct

Squads are private groups. Whoever creates a squad can invite and remove members. When using Train Rivals, don't:

harass, threaten or bully other members
post content that is illegal, hateful, sexually explicit or infringes someone else's rights
log fake workouts to cheat leaderboards in a way that spoils it for your squad
try to access other people's accounts or data, or interfere with how the service runs
scrape, copy or resell the app or its data

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

Your content

Your workouts and notes belong to you. You give us permission to store them, show them to your squads and process them as needed to run Train Rivals. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies in backups that are removed on the schedule in our privacy policy.

If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.

The service

We're improving Train Rivals all the time, so features may change, and the app may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance. If we offer paid features, the price will be shown before you buy. Purchases are made through the App Store or Google Play and follow their payment and refund rules.

The Train Rivals name, logo and app design belong to us. You may not use them without our permission.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Me in the app. We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we have to by law. If we ever shut Train Rivals down, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and a way to download your workouts.

Disclaimers and liability

Train Rivals is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to keep it reliable, but we don't promise it will be free of errors or that your data will never be lost. Keep your own records of anything important.

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for injuries from exercise. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be waived.

App stores

You may download Train Rivals from the Apple App Store or Google Play. These terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google, and we alone are responsible for the app and its support. Apple and Google aren't responsible for any claims about the app, and they have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. Your use of the app must also follow the rules of the store you downloaded it from. Apple and its subsidiaries can enforce these terms against you as third-party beneficiaries.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, USA. Any dispute will be handled by the state or federal courts in Massachusetts, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it there.

Changes to these terms

If we make an important change, we'll tell you in the app or by email at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using Train Rivals after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.
